Cemal Özgörkey
Cemal Özgörkey graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA in 1984 with a BA degree in International Finance, following his graduation from Galatasaray Lisesi in 1979.
He started his professional career in 1984 as Pre-Mix Department Manager within the marketing division of Özgörkey Group’s Coca-Cola investment. Between 1987 and 1990 he served as Coca-Cola Izmir Kemalpaşa Plant Manager and from 1990 to 1996 he assumed the position of Administrative Coordinator responsible for the plants within Özgörkey Group.
Between 1997 and 2018, Cemal Özgörkey acted as the Chairman of Özgörkey Holding, operating in the packaging, agriculture, beverage, and real estate industries. He still plays an active role in the Board of Özgörkey Holding as the Honorary Chairman, in addition to serving as the Deputy Chairman since 2009 at the Board of Anadolu Etap Inc., which operates in the fields of fruit growing and concentrated fruit juice.
Between 2008 and 2010, Cemal Özgörkey served as a Board Member of Galatasaray Sports Club, where he also acted as the Chairman of the Board of Galatasaray Pazarlama A.Ş., the marketing company of the Club. He still serves Galatasaray Community as a member of Galatasaray Sports Club General Assembly, Galatasaray Yardımlaşma Vakfı (Aid Society of Galatasaray) and a member of Galatasaraylılar Derneği (Alumni Association).
From 1991 to 1996 Cemal Özgörkey served as the President of Izmir Equestrian Club, where he also competed as a licensed equestrian athlete between 1972 and 1994. He is still one of the Honorary Presidents of Izmir Equestrian Club and a member of Istanbul Equestrian Club. As one of the founding members of Aegean Young Businessmen Association (EGIAD), Cemal Özgörkey still pursues his social activities through his board membership roles at Oglethorpe University, Nevzat Özgörkey Environment and Water Foundation, and Defne and Muhtar Kent Educational Foundation.
Cemal Özgörkey is serving as the Honorary Consul of Brazil in Antalya since 2007. On October 17th, 2017, he was granted with the decoration of “Barao de Rio Branco”, which is one of the highest medals awarded by the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil with a Comendador (Commander) degree, symbolizing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He is married to Elif Özgörkey and has a son called Cem.
Armağan Özgörkey
Armağan Özgörkey attended middle school at Izmir Saint-Joseph and graduated from Izmir Atatürk High School. He received his undergraduate degree in 1985 from Oglethorpe University Business School in Atlanta, with a major in accounting.
Between 1985 and 1995, he worked as General Coordinator at the family business, where his responsibilities covered Coca-Cola Turkey’s Aegean and Mediterranean regions, as well as Romania. Between 1993 and 2020, he assumed the role of Honorary Consulate of Romania in Izmir, and in 2002 he was awarded with the Order of the Crown of Romania in 2002.
In 1996, he joined the Efes Beverage Group as Vice President of the Eastern European Region, where he focused on beverage investments in Romania. In addition to his Chairman and CEO role at Özgörkey Holding, Armağan Özgörkey also acts as Chairman of packaging group companies Etapak, Etap Enjeksiyon and Etap Doğan, in addition to his board roles in Anadolu Etap and Coca-Cola Satış ve Dağıtım A.Ş.
Armağan Özgörkey served as the President of the Turkish Equestrian Federation between 2006 and 2012, First Vice President of the European Equestrian Federation between 2012 and 2021 and Group I Chair and Commercial Advisory Board Member of International Equestrian Federation.
He is still a Member of the Board at Nevzat Özgörkey Environment and Water Foundation (NEVSU).
Ege Karapınar
Ege Karapınar received her Industrial Engineering degree from Middle East Technical University after graduating from American Collegiate Institute in Izmir.
Karapınar started her professional career in Yaşar Holding headquarters and held several HR managerial roles throughout the years. She assumed Assistant General Manager position in Yaşarbank during 1993 to 1998, then joined Frito Lay Turkey in 1998 as HR Director. She later took commercial responsibility in 2000 as a one year developmental role to lead Istanbul Europe sales operations .
She switched back to HR as Vice President of Human Resources and Sales Capability Development in Pepsi Bottling Group and then HR Lead in PepsiCo East Mediterrenean Business Unit until she moved out of Turkey to assume global executive roles within Pepsico headquarters and AMEA sector in 2006.
In 2011, she joined Yıldız Holding as the GM of Human Resources and assumed global HR (CHRO) resposibility of the group until 2016.
Karapınar established strong multi-cultural leadership skills along with an international business acumen through her executive roles in Pepsico HQ in NY, Pepsico Asia, Middle East, North Africa HQ in Dubai, and United Biscuits acquired by Yıldız Holding in London, UK.
Since 2017, she has been acting as advisor to Board of Directors of Turkish Companies in the fields of building corporate governance, leadership, cultural change, globalization and organizational design by leveraging her local and global experience and knowledge.
Between 2013 and 2019, Ege Karapınar served as a member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at SEV (Health Education Foundation), where she is still a member of the Board of Trustees.
She is currently acting as a Board Member of Zorlu Holding as of April 2022 and also leads Corporate Governance and Sustainability Commitees.
Özlem Adalı
Özlem Adalı, graduated from Izmir Türk High School in 1986. After her graduation, she attended language school at LTC College London for two years.
In 1997, she attended graphic & interior decoration courses in USA at the Art Institute of Atlanta.
In addition to her role as a board member at Özgörkey Holding, Özlem Adalı is serving as the Chairwoman of Nevzat Özgörkey Environment and Water Foundation – NEVSU.
Hülya Gürcan
Hülya Gürcan graduated from Izmir Inonu Highschool in 1979 and Ankara University Faculty of Political Science in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in business. She started her career in Turkish Electricity Company (TEK) in 1984 in Ankara as an analyst in the Accounting and Management Systems Development Project executed by Southern Electric International Inc.
Hülya Gürcan lied in Lisbon between 1986 and 1989, before joining consumer durable goods company Teba Group in 1990 as Strategic Planning and Budget Control Manager.
She started her career with Özgörkey Holding in 1997 as Budget and Planning Manager at Etap Tarim and assumed senior level responsibilities at the holding company approximately for 25 years including Financial Affairs Coordinator, Treasury Coordinator and CFO. Hülya Gürcan retired from her executive duties at Özgörkey Holding in July 2021, where she still serves as a non-executive board member.
