Cemal Özgörkey

Honorary Chairman

Cemal Özgörkey completed his secondary education at Izmir Saint Joseph and high school education at Galatasaray High School in 1979 and graduated from the International Finance Department of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, USA in 1984.

He started his professional career in 1984 as the Manager of the Pre-Mix Department established within the marketing organisation of Özgörkey Group's Coca-Cola investment. In 1987, he assumed the position of Coca-Cola İzmir Kemalpaşa Factory Manager, which he held until 1990, and then he served as the Administrative Coordinator responsible for the factories of Özgörkey Group between 1990 and 1996.

Between 1997 and 2018, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Özgörkey Holding, which operates in the packaging, agriculture, real estate and beverage sectors. Cemal Özgörkey, who continues his active business life as the Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors of Özgörkey Holding, also served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of AEP Anadolu Etap Penkon Gıda ve Tarım Ürünleri Sanayi Tic. A.Ş. operating in the fruit growing and concentrated juice production sectors, between 2009 and 2024.

Cemal Özgörkey, who served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Galatasaray Sports Club and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Galatasaray Satış Pazarlama A.Ş. between 2008 and 2010, served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors in addition to these duties in 2022-2023. He continues to serve the Galatasaray community as a Member of the Council Committee of Galatasaray Sports Club, General Assembly Member, Member of the Galatasaray Solidarity Foundation for the Galatasaray Community and Member of the Association of Galatasaray Community.

Cemal Özgörkey, who served as the President of the Izmir Equestrian Club between 1991 and 1996, where he was a licensed rider between 1972 and 1994, is still among the Honorary Presidents of the club. In addition to being a founding member of the Aegean Young Businessmen's Association (EGİAD), Cemal Özgörkey continues his civil society activities as a member of the Istanbul Atlıspor Club. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Oglethorpe University from 2007-2022. He was one of the founders of the Nevzat Özgörkey Environment and Water Foundation and served as the first Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors until 2022. He is still also a member of the Board of Directors of the Defne-Muhtar Kent Education Foundation.

Cemal Özgörkey, who served as the Honorary Consul of Brazil in Antalya between 2007 and 2023, was awarded the ‘Barao de Rio Branco’ Order of High Merit in the rank of ‘Comendador’ (Commander) by the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil on 17 October 2017, which is considered one of the most prestigious state orders and symbolises the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

He is married to Elif Özgörkey and has a son named Cem.

 

Hülya Gürcan

Member

Hülya Gürcan graduated from İzmir İnönü High School in 1979 and from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Business Administration in 1984.

She started her career in 1984 as an analyst at the Turkish Electricity Authority (TEK) in Ankara as part of the Accounting and Management System Development Project conducted by Southern Electric International Inc.

Between 1986 and 1989, Mrs. Gürcan lived in Lisbon and between 1990 and 1997, she worked as Strategic Planning and Budget Control Manager at Teba Group of Companies operating in the consumer durables industry.

Hülya Gürcan started her career at Özgörkey Holding in 1997 as the Budget and Planning Manager at Etap Tarım ve Gıda, and then assumed senior responsibilities such as Financial Affairs Coordinator, Treasury Coordinator and CFO for nearly 25 years. On July 1, 2021, Hülya Gürcan retired from her executive position and continues to serve as a Board Member of Özgörkey Holding.

 

Özlem Adalı

Member

Özlem Adalı graduated from Izmir Private Turkish College in 1986. Following her language education at LTC College London, she studied graphics and interior design at the Art Institute of Atlanta, USA in 1997. 

In addition to being a Board Member of Özgörkey Holding, she also serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Nevzat Özgörkey Environment and Water Foundation.

 

Armağan Özgörkey

Chairman of the Board

After completing his secondary education at İzmir Saint-Joseph and his high school education at İzmir Atatürk High School, he received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, USA in 1985. After completing his studies, he joined the Özgörkey Group of Companies, the family business. Between 1985 and 1990, he worked in various positions within the Group. From 1990 to 1995, he had the privilege of serving as CEO of family-owned Coca-Cola franchises for the Aegean and Mediterranean regions, as well as Romania. In 1996, he joined the Efes Beverage Group as the Vice President for Eastern Europe, focusing on investments in Romania and Russia.

Since 2018, Mr. Özgörkey has been serving as the Chairman and CEO of Özgörkey Holding. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of AEP Anadolu Etap Penkon Gıda ve Tarım Ürünleri Sanayi Tic. A.Ş. and Coca-Cola Satış ve Dağıtım A.Ş., in addition to his chairmanship of the holding's packaging group subsidiaries Etapak Baskı Ambalaj, Etap Enjeksiyon Plastik and Etap Doğan. A.Ş. and Coca-Cola Satış ve Dağıtım A.Ş. as a board member. In addition to his executive role as CEO, he also leads the sustainability efforts of the companies he chairs.

He served as the Honorary Consul of Romania in Izmir between 1993-2004 and was awarded the Order of the Romanian State in 2002. Additionally, he acted as the Honorary Consul of Romania in Antalya between 2004-2018.

He served as President of the Turkish Equestrian Federation from 2006 to 2012, First Vice President of the European Equestrian Federation from 2012 to 2021, Group I President of the World Equestrian Federation from 2010 to 2021 and member of the Commercial Advisory Board. 

Since 2013, in addition to serving as a Board Member at the Nevzat Özgörkey Environment and Water Foundation, he has been supporting mentees as a mentor at the Women on the Board Association. Thus, he also continues his civil society activities.

 

Ege Karapınar

Acting Chairperson

After completing her secondary and high school education at American Collegiate Institute in Izmir, Ege Karapınar graduated from METU Industrial Engineering Department.

Karapınar started her professional journey in Yaşar Holding's central organisation. After serving as Assistant General Manager at Yaşarbank between 1993 and 1998, she worked as the HR Director at Frito Lay Türkiye and then as the Sales Manager in Istanbul Europe sales operations for one year in 2000 in order to build experience in commercial processes.

After serving as Vice President of the HR and Sales Competence Development Department at Pepsi Bottling Group Türkiye in 2001-2005 and as the HR Leader at PepsiCo Eastern Mediterranean Business Unit in 2006, she left Türkiye and held global senior management positions at PepsiCo's headquarters and then in the AMEA region.

Between 2011 and 2016, she assumed the role of CHRO-Global HR at Yıldız Holding.

She expanded his global leadership experience in different cultures and organisations by working as a senior executive in PepsiCo's New York headquarters, Dubai, the headquarters of PepsiCo Asia, Middle East and Africa Region, and London, the headquarters of Yıldız Holding, Pladis.

Since 2017, she has been both a member of boards of directors and a consultant in the fields of institutionalisation, leadership, cultural change, globalisation and organisation design.

Ege Karapınar is also a member of the Board of Trustees of SEV (Health and Education Foundation) and served as a Member and Vice Chairperson of the Foundation's Board of Directors between 2013-2019. She is also active in the Board of Directors committees of the Women on the Board Association. At Özgörkey Holding, in addition to being a Board Member, she is also the Chairperson of the Sustainability and Human Resources Committees.
